Homelearning experiences for your children during lockdown

From January 2021 we will be sending out a fortnightly plan of suggested learning experiences to do at home with your children if COVID restrictions mean they cannot attend nursery. This includes a variety of links for video stories and songs, some easy, fun learning experiences and games focusing on maths and literacy, and ideas to promote your child's health and wellbeing.

We are also offering a fortnightly story reading session via Zoom, and inviting parents to join one of our private Facebook groups where you can share with us your child's home learning experiences and see what others have been up to. Alternatively you can share this with us by email.

To download a letter with more information and links to our private Facebook groups click here for preschool children (3 to 5 years) and here for children aged under 3.

Health, Wellbeing and Safety

Links Nursery has remained open throughout the COVID19 pandemic, initially doing vital work as a hub for the children of key workers, and from August until December 2020 open fully for the return of all children. Currently revised lockdown restrictions mean a return to providing care for keyworker children only. Throughout the pandemic our focus has been on children's health and wellbeing, and making sure they are are happy and comfortable. We have been supporting children through games, stories, outdoors play in the garden, beach and river visits and outdoors walks.

COVID operational safety guidelines are in place and working well. Health and safety have always been important for the care of our children but have assumed even more importance during the pandemic. We want to reassure you that we are taking every step to ensure that your children remain safe and well whilst still enjoying nurturing and stimulating play and learning experiences.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do let us know.
